Alright this is getting a little out of hand... I'm not hear to defend the DOJ... I am long MSFT and don't agree that they have hurt consumers... I do however believe that workers and shareholders of companies that lost their jobs, stock vlaue, etc... because of unfair, illegal "competion" from MSFT have rights that need to be protected too... The system isn't there just to protect consumers... I can also see the Judge's point when he says, in reference to Bill Gates... "How can you trust a man when he's lied to you once..." Bill Gate's handeling of this case has been ill advised and dumb from the beginning. Or maybe just arrogant? Either way it has cost me and millions of other shareholders big time... Yes the DOJ is mostly to blame for ever bringing the case in the first place but Sr. Gates has to bear some responsibility for letting it get to this point... His uncompromising stance is quite noble, but then he can afford to be noble... What about us little guys that own 50 - 100 shares of his company? I for one did not invest in MSFT to contribute to fighting the big bad Govt....

If this keeps up MSFT is going to be broken up... There will be no reversal on appeal IMO... But I don't really think that matters much now anyway as that eventuality is already priced into today's price so bascially I don't think there is anyway to go except up...
