to prove the negative you're going to have to prove you know everything. The creation myth that the world is a bowl on the back of one or more turtles was effectively disproved by the photos of the earth taken from the moon's orbit. Of course you don't have to know everything to show that one particular theory is incorrect. i don't think it's worth the effort to try, We all have to make choices in our studies precisely because we can't learn everything. It comes down to how important it is personally to know the answer. There are many fields I don't care about and plenty where I would just as soon not know the answer. as i can't accept as proven that man has the highest intelligence in the universe Agreed, there is much we don't know about the universe and it's possible inhabitants. There is much we will never know because the information cannot travel far nor fast enough to ever know (and those inhabitants, if any, will never know of us). TP
