Wiz,

You know I like ya. You are a good guy. But that course is what us shooters in the City call a dog track.

This is my friend, is real golf. East Coast style. Visualize it.

Let me help you out:

I should be able to hit the AETH meeting tomorrow and will be able to provide you with notes. Regular session and breakout. Even if they pre-announce.

wiz.

re: pebble beach, don't let NN ride you. he's got this inexplicable dislike for the bay area. i think it's still got something to do with that raiders fan holding up the J-E-T-S sign back in '95:

Daly's Stupendous Finish
After playing the first 17 holes of the first round 3 over par, Daly made a 14 on the 18th hole. He finished with an 83, withdrew from the tournament and left the course without speaking to reporters, but did mumble something about cocktail waitresses and Reno. Here's a look at his 14 on 18:

* Driver out of bounds. Penalty stroke. Bets playing partner, Rocco Mediate, a six pack that he will get there in two.
* Re-tees and hits driver in the water left. Curses. Penalty stroke.
* Re-tees again and hits driver in the water. Tosses it into the drink. Penalty stroke.
* Re-tees with 5-iron and finds fairway short of trees on right. Shotguns celebratory Budweiser. Urinates on caddie.
* Lays up about 115 yards short of green. Stops to play rock-paper-scissors with spectating fan. Loses two out of three.
* Hits approach -- his ninth shot -- in water left of fairway. Pisses self. Penalty shot.
* Forced to drop in bunker where ball last crossed margin of hazard. Must hit lefty because stance is impeded by seawall. Plus he can't see straight. Moves ball 10 feet, but still on the beach. Orders pina colada with umbrella.
* Blasts 12th shot to within five feet.
* Two-putts for 14.
* Heads to 19th hole.
