Positively, in fact it has already taken place.

If you allow the subtle association of higher hem lines representing looser sexual mores, which is not so subtly associated with greater promiscuity, then hemlines have been lowered.

I saw a 60-minutes (or something like it) program the other night. The program was reporting a significant reduction in high school student's sexual activities over the past 5 years. Associating reduce sexual explorations with the representation of hem length, one can conclude that while the market was partying, hemlines were being lowered.

Is this a signal for the market?? Maybe.
