More news from the front: I spoke with 3 more distributors today, 2 in Vancouver BC, and one in Florida which was a Norsat outlet. I am happy to say that there wasn't a big difference in the responses. All were positive and all were knowledgeable. I pressed the Florida distributor for # of sales but he said he wasn't sure that he was allowed to disclose that. I said more than 50 and he laughed and said "Oh yea."

My longest conversation was with one of the Canadians. He had some interesting comments as follows:

Lot's of interest and sales in the logging and exploration business.
Now getting calls from outfitters and guides
Lot's of ads being run in Vancouver which is really helping because now when he makes a call, the prospect has heard of it and already has an interest.
"We also sell Inmarsat which but I think Globalstar will make them obsolete." (Big contrast from distributor in Calgary who thought Inmarsat was filling the need for sat phones.)
Does not think every mom and pop phone shop should be able to sell the phone, only professional telecom folks should. He didn't agree when I said I thought they ought to be in as many outlets as possible. He said the phones will sell themselves and that it was just a matter of time before it really catches on. He says momentum is building daily.

I plan to continue to call more distributors each week as I have doing since Feb. I can safely say that my current experiences are much improved from those in Feb and even those a month ago. I do sense momentum building. Maybe I am just hearing what I want to hear but I can tell you that when I ask "Are you getting any interest in this product?" I am getting a resounding "yes" much quicker than I use to and more consistently. Today I was 3 for 3. Let's hope it is a sign of things to come.
