Chic it give memory makers a alternative. You can sell crap (RDRAM) if it's the only thing people can buy to eat.

But if they have a choice between buying crap (RDRAM) to eat or a nice big juicy steak (DDR) they'll buy the steak.

SLR (biggest ECM) just reported earnings, component shortages all around!

"there are component shortages for memory chips, circuit boards and a host of other parts. "

How much support do you think Rambus will get with this shortages? :)

And to think of the pent up demand that stays till well into 2001. AMD looking good for at least the early part of 2001. Even if PE can hold 25, we'll be making a whole lot of money.

The recent mess ups by Intel means a world right now, MB makers now trust AMD just as much, if not more than Intel. That is very important now since there is shortages of components to make MB's.
