Since Europe is GSM with plans to go to WCDMA
on a continent-wide basis why would Turkey
choose a separate path? Perhaps they should also
drop the Metric system.

Sounds like they are trying to differentiate it from their cdma. Maybe we should send an alert to the Q legal staff.
