JambaTalk.com Selects Interactive Telesis to Host Speech-Enabled Scheduling Service

Service Designed to Simplify the Lives of Busy People

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 2000--Interactive Telesis Inc., (OTCBB:TSIS - news), a leader in specialized interactive voice response (IVR) services and deployment of speech recognition technologies, Friday announced that it will host JambaTalk.com's speech-enabled scheduling service.

With the new JambaTalk service, consumers are able to make, change, or cancel service appointments at any time automatically, simply by speaking into any phone.

JambaTalk.com has licensed speech recognition software from SpeechWorks International, a partner of Interactive Telesis, to provide a phone-based speech recognition channel complementary to its Internet services. The phone channel is particularly important in mobile and other environments lacking Internet connectivity. Sample customer relationship management (CRM) applications include automotive and medical service scheduling, and sales force automation. Spanish language compatibility provided in SpeechWorks 6.5 expands domestic market reach and enables expansion to lucrative Latin American markets lagging in Internet connectivity. Access via wireless devices such as PDAs is planned for future releases.

``We selected Interactive Telesis as our hosting partner because of their experience in hosting complex applications and their proven reputation with enterprise customers such as Yahoo!, NIKE and Excite@home,'' said Dr. John Harding, co-founder and CEO of JambaTalk.com. ``Interactive Telesis' open platform and instant scalability also give JambaTalk an important technological edge that allows for unlimited growth and flexibility.''

A typical use of the JambaTalk phone system would be in dental scheduling. The system first greets the caller: ``Hello, welcome to Newport Bay Dentistry. Please say 'appointment' if you'd like to make an appointment or say operator for the operator ...'' For an appointment, customer information is collected, followed by the customer being presented with the soonest possible time. If that time is not accepted, then the customer can say such words as ``tomorrow,'' ``next Tuesday,'' or ``August the sixth'' to proceed with appointment setting. Alternatively, the patient could request the appointment via the Web if they desire, and likewise the dental office can view their appointments via the Web.

``We are very excited that JambaTalk.com has selected Interactive Telesis as a hosting partner,'' stated Douglas T. Luke, vice president of operations for Interactive Telesis. ``JambaTalk's scheduling service represents a real productivity enhancement tool for small to mid-size businesses for consumers all across the country by combining the telephone and voice recognition technology to provide anytime, anywhere access to information for consumers on the go.''

JambaTalk.com is currently accepting select customers in its preview launch and plans to launch the full system in the third quarter of 2000. Over the next several months, JambaTalk.com anticipates several new initiatives.

Interactive Telesis Announces $4.5 Million Private Placement

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2000--Interactive Telesis Inc., (OTCBB:TSIS - news), a leader in specialized interactive voice response (IVR) services and deployment of speech recognition technologies, today announced a private placement sale of up to $4.5 million of its common stock to two institutional investors.

The additional funding will be devoted almost exclusively to the build out of network infrastructure required in supporting the growing demand for speech-enabled applications. ``What pleases me most about this financing is the caliber of our new financial partners,'' stated Donald E. Cameron, president and CEO of Interactive Telesis. He adds, ``Part of a multi-billion dollar global organization, these investors understand that speech recognition is a revolutionary technology with global implications.'' As the benefits of speech recognition become more widely recognized, the demand for infrastructure that is capable of deploying speech-enabled applications will escalate. Interactive Telesis will meet this demand by providing the infrastructure and technical expertise necessary to bring these applications to market.

Many industry analysts are referring to voice-driven Web services as the second coming of the Internet. Mark Plakias, who studies voice and wireless technologies for Princeton, N.J.-based Kelsey Group, estimates a $5.5 billion market could grow out of connecting people to the Web and directing them to businesses via the telephone.

Under the stock purchase agreement, the initial closing of 905, 797 shares for $2.5 million has been completed and two subsequent closings of $1.0 million each are scheduled in approximately 90 and 180 days. The subsequent closings will be at market price at the time of each closing. The investors will receive warrants entitling them to purchase additional shares in an amount equal to 15% of the shares issued at each closing at a price which is 110% above the subsequent closing price. The company also granted re-pricing rights with respect to the shares purchased and anti-dilution rights with respect to the shares and the warrants. Qualification of the resale of the securities issued under the financing is subject to filing and acceptance of a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
