Greenspan blew it! He went way to far tightening.

Greenspan went to far in 1998, and too far this time as well. I've said both of that before. But that said I disagree with your earnings comment. Nor do I believe this is a hard landing. I believe it's an accelerating landing and if he raises again {I expect him to} you can expect more turmoil going forward. I understand Greenspan, just don't agree with him. Maybe he's trying to resurrect the boom bust cycle ;)

I agree, I think we were headed for recession ANYWAY... everyone's leveraged up and spending is set to dry up. The hard landing is in... followed quickly by the pump handle.
