First Savings Bank Chooses Go2Net's Authorize.Net as Its Internet Payment Gateway
================================================================
DES PLAINES, Ill. and PROVO, Utah, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- First Savings
Bank Merchant Division (FSB) and Authorize.Net, a leading global payment
solutions provider and part of the Go2Net Network (NASDAQ:GNET) today
announced an agreement in which Authorize.Net will provide FSB's merchants
with a gateway for processing Internet credit and debit card transactions.
First Savings Bank Merchant Division, founded in 1995, is one of the country's
largest and fastest growing electronic transaction processors with more than
25,000 merchants and an annualized processing volume of more than
$1.5 billion.
Under the terms of the agreement, FSB is able to offer its merchants
online, real-time credit card transaction processing using Authorize.Net's
WebLink(TM)or off-line processing using Authorize.Net's Virtual Terminal(TM).
With WebLink(TM), a merchant's Web site transactions are encrypted using
128-bit Secure Socket Technology (SSL) and are authorized in approximately
five seconds. Virtual Terminal(TM) uses the same SSL technology as
WebLink(TM), but allows merchants to manage credit card transactions from any
computer with an Internet connection and a Web browser. Virtual Terminal(TM)
replaces standard authorization terminals or software and provides the best
solution for merchants who manually enter credit card transactions for mail or
telephone order sales.
"We are very excited to work with First Savings Bank Merchant Division and
feel that this agreement strengthens our leadership position in the payment
solutions industry," said Jeff Marcous, Authorize.Net senior vice president
business development. "We look forward to providing FSB's more than
25,000 merchants with online payment processing technology."
FSB manages more than 175 independent sales offices and more than
475 independent sales representatives nationwide. First Savings Bank is an
innovator in the merchant processing industry, introducing such programs as
Same-Day Approval (most merchants receive approval the same day their
application is received), Same-Day Shipping (approved merchants' equipment is
shipped the same day), First Club(SM) (an unconditional equipment warranty and
free supply program), National Debit(SM) (a comprehensive ATM, check and debit
card acceptance network), Next-Day Funding(SM) (approved merchants' funds are
released the next business day), FSB On-Line(SM) (merchants can download daily
transaction statements), First ATM(SM) (the country's first nationwide ATM
distribution network), and eFSB(SM) (secure Internet credit card processing
for merchants of any size). FSB offers merchants personalized, award-winning
credit, debit and EBT card and Internet processing and check guarantee
services; one of the industry's most efficient customer service departments;
and the security of having all departments managed in-house. For more

The on24 news is actually pretty annoying. Until recently, I've been able to get most of my financial news from Go2Net. I'm now starting to go over to Yahoo to get text versions of news because I prefer to read at a faster pace than some audio stream will feed. It would be great if Go2Net at least had both.
