How could you possibly know what an alien eye would or would not see? Alien eyes would not all be alike. I think we can have no way of knowing whether or not aliens as a whole or even any given alien could distinguish a human from a tapir. Because aliens are...alien. Your logic falls flat.

To an alien eye there would not be much difference between a human and a Tapir
Less difference than between human and squid, or human and daffodil. These are some of the facts that must be accounted for in the theories about evolution. The current theory accounts for this similarity and difference quite well.
