Don,

>>According to AG on CNBC, the non-corporate sector lack of productivity growth is non-credible. But, apparently,
disaggregation of the numbers will soon solve this problem. -g-<<

I guess Al.com took a bubble bath this morning. (g)

Seriously, I have no idea what the productivity numbers are, but I don't think it really matters one way or the other.

The argument is that higher productivity leads to faster sustainable economic growth; leads to faster profit growth; justifies higher stock prices.

I don't buy it. I think there are relationships between savings, investment, economic growth, the cost of capital (debt and equity) and its return and other factors.

I don't think you can increase economic growth in a vacuum via an increase in productivity without other offsetting business value related factors coming into play.

I think that's the biggest problem with the dividend discount, CAPM and other business value models used on Wall St. They don't consider that certain combinations of inputs are not sustainable because some of the inputs impact the others over time.

I also think that the fiat system is the #1 culprit in causing temporary conditions that lead investors and business people off the path of light. (g)

Don,

If I was Alan Greenspan I would spend less time thinking about the productivity statistics and more time about my role in helping Wall St. transform itself from being in the business of investment advice, money management and capital raising into a global financial rape and pillage machine. (ng)

Disaggregation means throwing out the numbers that don't suit your political purpose.
