We have lift off!!!

Waiting for the S and p rebalancing to get posted Wednesday at 7 pm. I believe GLW's weighting will increase as a result of the the OPTX acquisition.
I am waiting for that to become a factor later in the week.
JMHO.

PS. I hope the market can sustain its momentum to the close. If it does, GLW should be closing at its high for the day.

Hello GLW thread...from SDLI thread...

This is not the first time this rumor has been around, and this makes me think there is strong reason to believe both companies are talking (again). Last time was about two years ago if I remember right.

Then it was an acquisition.

Now IMO it would have to be a merger, just not of equals. Each would get a share of the combination.

At SDLs current PE ratio, that might appear to be high to GLW, and I am sure the reverse to SDLI....so there is probably a lot of bickering, if it is happening, about relative share percentages.

IMHO, it would be a very good thing, i.e. superlinear in valuation. But the valuation would be for the market to determine. Again, IMHO, the market would really love it...I know I would...and it would be a big win-win, that would really make a serious challenge to the marcap of JDSU...and in the end it would say who the real Gorilla is...
