Here's a story I was somewhat involved in on rec.collecting.coins: zdnet.com This was a "platinum bar" being sold on ebay, but after doing the various density calculations, I suggested that the bar was probably silver. Fred Murphy did a great job following up on it with eBay and Johnson Matthey. JM should probably get the bar confiscated, since it is probably a fake bearing their trademark.

btw, I'm showing XAU +.66 on the day. which might indicate higher gold tomorrow. Did you see silver was up also? IMHO, when all 3 are up it is real pressure on someone.

"It is amazing how fast things move" Up and down in a flash. Funny about the # of postings - I can't remember that many when we had the spike up to $320 in the Fall? Also, this time we have a few new posters in action - or maybe they're old ones returning to the fold?
