oh, this thing about leaks is of course not provable. but i have noticed that the market almost always rallies in the second half of a trading day before 'benign' data are released...it does look a mite suspicious. if the data were truly a factor inducing uncertainty, uncertain trading should result ahead of the release. conversely, if the market goes down ahead of the release, the data are usually bad, see March CPI.
