Does anybody here remember the term "credibility gap" from the Vietnam war days. An elegant way of saying that people simply did not believe what the government told them on this subject. I submit that we already have a serious "credibility gap" re: official inflation data. And this gap could turn into a huge chasm before long. I agree this rally will be short lived, but I would not be surprised if NAZ breaches 4000, the Dow 11000, and the S&P 1500 before it is all over. Will be looking to buy bear funds heavily if those levels are reached.
