I "favor" executions because they equate to justice, an eye for an eye. A life taken, a person murdered, creates an imbalance that is not compensated by compassion only for the murderer. If we choose compassion, that treatment should apply to victims also. It is justice. I said I "could" compromise, isn't that showing "enlightened self-interest". There needs to be a balance.
