why ask me? i trade 'clown' stocks all the time...my favorites are YHOO, DCLK, CMGI, NSOL (now VRSN),AMZN, CNET, INKT, VERT, CMRC, APNT , CMTN ,QCOM, CRA and BVSN.

i concentrate on this narrow list so as not to lose sight of the forest due to an overabundance of trees. however, i regard these stocks as trading sardines due to their volatility...i know more or less what their respective businesses are, but i don't think that's really relevant when trading these stocks.i trade them both long and short, as well as their options.
instead of picking one particular stock, i would much rather recommend people buy e.g. the above list as a basket if they have an itch to be invested in tech high flyers. the likelihood to catch a few huge long term winners is much greater that way.

clapton's,

Good question.

Fundamentally: Not well-informed, but I like the chances of wireless build-out ahead of internet build-out, so I would look there.

Technically/daytrade: I'll take AMZN, RMBS, and YHOO up/down.

I would choose JDSU, HLIT, BRCM or GLW, because the fiber build out will be ongoing for at least the next decade.

That being said, at current valuations none of them are even an acceptable hold (with the possible exception of HLIT since it got torn a new orifice yesterday).
