Gussy and the rest of F Troop, i must confess;

yes some Q heads and NOk's have discussed the possibilities,
and here is what we "all" agreed on;

1. IJ said IDC won't get another plug nickel, from Q. i am sure you know that also.

If NOK ever bought Q, Then W-CDMA (DS) is history. Lets face it, NOK would go CDMA-2000, it is proven, it is what they are buying, no need for the other now. GSM has to be ripped out anyway, so why not go with what NOK will be paying for.

My question to you, What, Then?

if you are going to answer the above question with, That will never happen, or you are dreamin Q head, don't bother.

So here is the stage you always wanted:)

And your answer to the question is?

Wrong, Daddy-O! Just as your speculation about component shortages are based on a cracked and cloudy crystal ball, your speculation about the weight I may give the Chinese market is based on clairvoyance which is not so clair. I assume you believe that Motorola will refuse to make 3G products with its investments in China when the Chinese roll out their new 3G networks. LOL

It must rile you no end that the Q will receive 3G royalties regardless of the flavor of 3G CDMA used. Incidentally, you failed to address or rebut that point.

While some GSM networks will undoubtedly be installed in the future, even you should admit that, in the ultimate 3G analysis, GSM is toast and that fewer and fewer GSM networks will be rolled out as the deficiencies in EDGE and GPRS are recognized, as Nokia recently did. The BT fiasco-in-the-making is but a harbinger of things to come.

Gussie, your intense analytical powers fail you in one arena in which your vehemence is most noticeable i.e., the human one. I don't have a vile temper and no one has yet accused me of having a lame wit. While wit is a matter of taste and opinion, comments about it are inappropriate. As to my temper, you should know that I intensely enjoy debating these issues with intelligent people who have different viewpoints. Sure, I'll joust and jab here and there, it's part of the game. But I'll never accuse anyone of being lame-witted or having a bad temper (even Tero), particularly when I don't know the individual well enough to make such a bold statement.

You seem to have crossed the line between discussion and insult. It's a shame because you are obviously knowledgeable and intelligent (if mis-directed, in my opinion). You will be seen as a crank and a curmudgeon if your personal attacks continue, robbing you of the credibility you would otherwise enjoy.
