FredE: By my math, ADLAC paid about $5400 per sub for this acquisition. And somebody lent them the money to do it. Either the subscriber valuation bubble is ready to burst, or analysts shouldn't be so alarmed over DISH's sub acquisition costs. After all, if they add 155,000 net subs per month, they sure don't spend the same money doing it that Adelphia does.

Fundamentally, DISH is still in a strong position. IMO, the current valuations are more the result of general market corrections than company fundamentals. The stock has still seen tremendous growth over its year ago pricing. It (and just about everything else in NASDAQ in 1q 00) was never worthy of it's highs, and it is better than its current value.

Everything sorts itself out, eventually...
