you should be making your case before Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu, Siemans and even AMD. For some reason they don't have access to your counsel and they choose to use Intel compilers. If only you had gotten to them first....

If you have a corrupt environment in which you compete, it doesn't pay to be honest. If a company A uses the fake benchmark to sell it's $100,000 machine, it is simpler for company B to run the same benchmark than to go into a lengthy debate about how company A is cheating. (count the number of posts on this issue). It's a losing battle. It is easier to cheat as well.

to thought a fool by fools is no insult at all....

Saying "you are making a fool of yourself" is different from calling someone a fool. It assumes that the person is not a fool, but is doing something that makes him look like one. Your obsession about the SPEC benchmark is a good example.

Anyway, let's just drop it.
