What if Greenspan does know the CPI # and he is worried that it will be reacted to negatively and the reason that he made the comments today was to mitigate the reaction with dovish comments.

Just another way to look at it. If the CPI # was going to be good, why would he need to say anything today.

I just have a gut feeling that Greenspan already new the CPI #'s today when he did his speech and that was why he was a little more positive than usual.
