Bruce: Since I am very rusty on this area, curious about a few things:

Is this system entirely dependent on infranets (the old WAN and now a MAN which seems to be simply a WAN in a more limited, i.e. metropolitan area) rather than the internet?

Why is Compaq not front and center in this announcement, since Compaq seems to be the spider in the web? And does Compaq use Microsoft's NT (or whatever the current desination is) exclusively?

Doesn't the net depend on Compaq using Cisco on the outside and Brocade on the inside so to speak?

Also, isn't there still plenty of room for Network Appliances using the internet and working with Brocade. In otherwords isn't the internet more ubiquitous - more widely available - and a major "pipe" for NTAP to compete vigorously using "public" nets?

Would appreciate some background on this from urls or links and especially your considered views.

Best.
