<But hang on, how come roaming is allegedly already possible between Europe and USA?>

Maurice, you just ask tooooo many questions! LOL

You are right, in all GSM country based gateways as in AVZ, Aussaguel France etc...there is in fact a IS41 switch, but it is internal to the gateway in these countries. There is then a nailed up link meaning that cables go out from the IS41 switch right into Monsieur GSM switch which is the link to the outside world in these GSM countries.

To the best of my knowledge all Gateways have an IS41 switch. Whether itïs external or internal, I think depends whether itïs ETSI land or CDMA land.

Cheers,

Maurice,

As always, your posts are great.

Since you appear to enjoy a rather unique relationship with Globalstar IR, can you talk with them about the commitments / reassurances that Bernard has made over the last 6 months and get an update on where things stand today?. Stuff such as why the number of subs they expect to have by the end of the year; is the Indian SP going to be announced at end June...remember that BS said that they had an SP but could not disclose for NDA reasons but will hopefully be in a position to do so at the end of this quarter etc etc.?

I think Rocket Man posted a list of Globalstar assurances which may provide a useful frame of reference.

Finally, a word of caution to all on this thread: Number of subs is important, but is meaningless unless the MOU is also reasonable. I expect Bernard to say that the ramp up was at the end of the quarter, so MOU number is not relevant. He is going to try to play games with us. What I want him to say is that the MOU for subs signed up in Jan is x, Feb is y, etc etc
