DownSouth: Hey, you are the expert here, I just concentrate on wireless and fiber. I was curious also what the reference to Compaq meant its role is in relation to the Cisco / Brocade announcement.

Much as I try to stick to my last - wireless and fiber - I sometimes branch out a bit in areas with some connection or relation to them.

Cisco was my first gorilla, and fibre channel was of interest when I concentrated on "networking".

Now I am tempted to look at both Network Appliance and Brocade.

May pass, but both look like good possibilities to me.

But need to understand the technologies, not just the companies to be comfortable.

So thinking of beginning some DD.

Is my basic assumption on "pipes" accurate?

Best.
