--Perhaps Jeff's leadership as it relates to these core values is what sets the foundation for such trust within Amazon which allows them to focus 10,000% on "the customer."

come on man, amazon is an electronic sweatshop... all of this 'community' garbage might sound good but if a company
can't turn a profit it can't exist without a subsidy can it?

i'm all for an open and free world but if it's going to be modelled upon the internal mechanisms of amazon.com, 'fts.'

please choose your examples a little more carefully -g-

[OT] Fred,
Thanks for the insightful comments from Jeff Bezos. While the people I know who work at Amazon would say that it is diametrically opposed to the reality of working conditions there, I believe that contained in his statement is an important concept to internalize.

If there is trust, an agreed model of ethics and operations, and alignment of goals (you really must have all three), internal communications are required only to disseminate and discuss new ideas and formulate coordinated efforts so that all members of a group/community/organization can work together and benefit each others' efforts. This can free a great deal of energy to direct outward towards service, accepting input (listening), and making real progress in products and services.

Since this is off topic and I'm in the middle of something, I'll make the reply short.

Thanks,

Mike
