The irony that I refer to is this. We worry about the possible injustice to the murderer via error, while the victims are discarded along the way. My case is made, at least for me, by the simple fact that they are not mentioned with the same "civility" and their "rights" are not met with the same "compassion" we are affording their assassins. Without a balance in compassion, I will continue to favor capital punishment as a merely logical act.
