Thurston, If I was playing a public course, and ran into someone playing in work boots, my first reaction would be to lock my wallet in my car. I remember having our threesome joined by an old fellow, about 78, on a public course in Palm Harbor, FL. He shot bogie, double bogie the first two holes, then proposed a small wager. My friend the BIG HITTER took him up on it, and the old fella averaged par the rest of the round. He could only drive about 200 yards, but could move the ball the best I've ever seen, never missed a putt inside 15 feet. So I'll keep an eye out for the guy in work boots...
