Dave, RE: I love that the bears jump to Carl's defense so often and so quickly. You don't do that when someone attacks a post by Dan3, or Ali, or Daniel Schuh. Why is that? Why don't you defend all the bear posters on the board? Two possible reasons: A. I am paid by the same people that are paying Bilow to be a basher, and I am trying to lend him more of an air of respectability. B. I am not defending anybody. Note that I haven't said anything in reference to the content of Bilow's posts. There are plenty of engineers here with far greater ability to do that. What I am trying to do is correct what I believe to be an incorrect assumption about a concept that I consider ludicrous.

Carl's posts are the most carefully constructed, detailed, interesting, and educational that I've seen on SI. I personally hope he'll keep posting because I enjoy reading them very much (and I find that I can learn a great deal from them). Posts from me, and most others on the boards, IMHO, are OK - some worse and some better than others. But if I, for example, were to stop posting it would be no big loss to SI - but if Carl stops posting, it will be a tragedy for us all! :-) Regards, Dan
