That was before the rally, some investment banker decided that with the rebound in the NASD it was worth keeping them up while they put an IPO together real quick.

Motorola keeps threatening to decommission (burn up) Iridium's satellites if it doesn't get paid for operating them, so the squeaky wheel keeps getting the grease, that is, Motorola keeps getting paid. There's no reason to destroy the satellites if someone wants to buy them - it would be a breach of duty to the creditors.
