LOL, well sometimes you just get distracted. Launching and pulling out boats always makes me nervous, I've seen a lot of mishaps, usually involving the lower unit.

No big deal. You just run for a while and replace the plug or put it on the trailer. Used to clean the jon boats that way. Pull the plug and when it was 1/2 full kick it in gear. The water drains out. You do have to move fast enough so the hole is above the water. Idling won't work.
