Hadn't heard. Remember my friend Lee was attacked in HI by a Great White which aren't sposed to live there, and would have drowned if her guide hadn't Tarzan-attacked him with a big knife. It was a mess. Poked holes in her.

Your odds are infinitesimal, something like one in 20-50 million, which means watch out, to me. I would be concerned about the kids too.

You're a good mommy.

I can tell.

Those boys are lucky.

<<Wonder if it's the same shark or if there are more than one? >>

I bet there's more than one. Especially this time of year. Hammerheads follow Tarpon into shallow waters. All kinds of sharks up shallow and feeding, but not on people except by mistake. Saw some footage filmed off Miami from a helicopter. In order from the beach it showed waders, then a row of sharks, then swimmers and then more sharks. If those sharks were people eaters it would have been a deli.

<<That's actually rather large for a shark.<edit - not, CNN reports it was a bull shark, which can get up to 11 ft long.> >>

I saw the replica of the shark Frank Mundus caught off of New York. It was actually bigger than the shark in Jaws.

Stopping in to catch up. Am trying to organize my life, my closets, my desk.
Was telling Ammo about the sharks-- he said actually sharks frequently go after the boarding ladder on a boat. Most often in baiting situations for photo ops, sharks confuse the electrical fields coming off the metal in sea water for erratic impulses of wounded animals.

I am taking this down as he speaks--- making oohs and ahhs of admiration.

Now he's talking about Ampullae of Lorenzini, which are found on the Great White Shark's nose.

My son is a veritable fount of sharky knowledge.

We're going to be on the Outer Banks, NC in July, and then in Mexico early August, and then on France in Sept.
I am going to be very upset if sharks interfere with my good times.
