Chip, I have commented extensively on other threads about the strategy of T going to cable for the last mile access. The LECs are getting their LD access by putting the voice on the data networks and getting high speed data access with DSL. The cable strategy levels the playing field for T, allowing them to provide data and voice services to the home without having to deal with (and pay for) the local access.

This is a good strategy.
