Michael,

You're welcome to keep your data on your own trusty
PC. Lots of people don't want the bother or the
responsibility. Be that as it may, the consumer
has been harmed by defective and unsecured products
from M$FT. It's as though they sold the Taurus without
any door locks and a poorly-designed engine.

If customers were content to use their PC's for games
& Word Processing that would be ok, but M$FT wouldn't
be able to sell new O/S's that way. No. They have
to advertise more & more features to get the customer's
attention. The fact that the features don't work as
advertised and you could drive a tractor-trailer through
the security holes means that if there were a competitor
M$FT would be forced to go back to the drawing-board
and publish products that actually did what they were
advertised to do. That would benefit the consumer.
That's what the DOJ lawsuit is all about.
