Freeway - BTW if the stock symbol is OIL, the company name name is Triton. Is that the company to which you refer? I assume it is. Yes Triton, has a good reputation for success with the drill bit, as far as I know.

Jane,
I have followed Triton OIL (not Trinity) for a year and a half now. Here is a brief summary and will give you some things to look at when doing your DD. Triton was a struggling company until Hicks/Muse made a cash infusion and took control of the company during the last downturn in the sector. The company has 3 areas of operations. 1. Colombia accounts for all of Triton's cash flow and earnings. Triton is partnered with BP/Amoco. Recent production was down due to some problems that BP is supposed to be correcting. Colombia is a high risk place to operate with the pipeline being blown up every so often. That said, Colombia is now a cash cow for Triton and will provide a lot of the cash flow to develop EG. EG was discovered in late 1998 and I posted the news releases on the third well that was drilled a couple of days ago. The estimates for EG are for up to 500 million barrels of oil. Triton has an 85% working interest in 1.2 million acres. The first production from EG is scheduled to begin by the end of this year at around 60,000 bopd. Triton's current production is around 40,000 bopd, so you can see how huge this is. Triton also has a world class NG field in Southeast Asia. They are partnered with Arco and Arco is funding the first $300 million in infrastructure costs. This field is scheduled to begin production in late 2001. Triton has a good balance sheet with lots of cash. I don't believe there is another mid/large cap E&P with the type of cash flow and earnings increases that Triton will enjoy over the next two years. I would love to hear of one if there is such. Check out some of the brokerage reports on the earnings and cash flow estimates for the next two years. This is all from memory so PLEASE verify all of this information. My first purchase was at $12, then I purchased more at $18 after the EG discovery last fall. Last week, I purchased more at $31 believing the third EG well would be very good.
Good luck in your DD,
Sportsman
