Alternative Resources Corporation Selected by
Extensity as Consulting and Implementation
Partner

BARRINGTON, Ill., June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Alternative Resources Corporation (ARC) (Nasdaq: ALRC - news), a
leading provider of technology management services, today announced it has been selected by Extensity Inc. (Nasdaq:
EXTN - news), as a consulting and implementation partner of Extensity's Internet-based Workforce Optimization Suite.
This agreement adds another critical capability to ARC's ability to support its customers' efforts to ``e''-enable their
business models.

As part of the certification process, ARC will implement Extensity internally to automate expense reporting for its
technical consultant (TC) base. With this service, TC's will be able to enter expenses electronically into ARC's
PeopleSoft back office management system, ensuring prompt and accurate reimbursement and client billing.

Selected ARC consultants will also undergo extensive training on Extensity's integrated suite of Internet-based workforce
optimization applications. Following training, ARC will be certified to provide consulting and implementation services of
Extensity's entire suite, which automates expense reporting, travel planning, e-procurement and billable time capture for
employees across the enterprise. Following ARC certification, ARC will market the ARC/Extensity solution to its
customers as well as new prospect companies. Longer term, ARC plans to combine Extensity with other software
partners to render a complete, self-service portal solution for employee relations management.

Commenting on this relationship, Vic Fricas, ARC Vice president of Field Services, said, ``This agreement accelerates
ARC's ability to assist customers in their efforts to electronically enable their business models, with the latest and best
self-service automation tools. Internally, we will employ Extensity software to further automate our relationship with our
technical employees and consultants, making it easier for them to work with and through us. In this way, both our
customers and technical consultants benefit from this relationship.''

``The combination of ARC's existing Technology Management Services and their e-enabling solutions practice will ensure
end-to-end deployment success for our joint customers,'' said Al Nordgren, Vice President of Services for Extensity.
``Extensity and ARC will collaborate in selling and providing complete workforce optimization solutions to companies
interested in reducing their administrative costs and improving employee efficiency.''

WUWT, nice article. While ARC's model does not focus on industrial exchange, they're 100% into their new IT-exchange ("High Touch Exchange"), partnering with techies.com. At the analyst meeting 2 weeks ago, John Elliot, the new Director of Staffing, gave a live demonstration of the exchange, it's really cool.

In the old traditional branch model, the branch manager maintains the technical consultants' profiles which don't get updated too frequently. The branch manager has little incentive to share those profiles with other branches. The technical consultants don't easily get to see and choose from various jobs available.

This outdated model is still standard practice at most IT companies. Many of them are in the ditch and they just don't know it yet.

ARC got rid of the old model and is now focusing on its High Touch Exchange where the profile data base, jobs data base and a matching engine converge. Profiles are maintained and updated by the consultants, jobs are presented in the open. Clients love the new model, consultants love the new model. It's win-win for ARC.

Regards,

Tom
