WUWT, nice article. While ARC's model does not focus on industrial exchange, they're 100% into their new IT-exchange ("High Touch Exchange"), partnering with techies.com. At the analyst meeting 2 weeks ago, John Elliot, the new Director of Staffing, gave a live demonstration of the exchange, it's really cool. In the old traditional branch model, the branch manager maintains the technical consultants' profiles which don't get updated too frequently. The branch manager has little incentive to share those profiles with other branches. The technical consultants don't easily get to see and choose from various jobs available. This outdated model is still standard practice at most IT companies. Many of them are in the ditch and they just don't know it yet. ARC got rid of the old model and is now focusing on its High Touch Exchange where the profile data base, jobs data base and a matching engine converge. Profiles are maintained and updated by the consultants, jobs are presented in the open. Clients love the new model, consultants love the new model. It's win-win for ARC. Regards, Tom
