I had a bunch of armed teenagers take all my money once. A couple of them wanted to kill me. One of them didn't: he thought the cops would be a lot more likely to chase them down for a murder than for an armed robbery. He convinced them. Made for some interesting dialogue. Probably took less than a minute, but it seemed like an hour.
