Ray, I'm trying to get to the bottom of the Citrix story. This simple PR quote in your # 8446 post actually helps. Key words I find interesting, "Citrix remains committed to accelerating the form and functionality of the ICA protocol" people seem to agree that Citrix does what it does well. The question remains, will web model based systems strip away Citrixs customer base ? The perspective I have from this board, so far, is only the smaller size customers are leaving for a web model based systems. Then yesterday it came to me as to what Citrix system might have over a web model based system, I think the answer is a major element of security. Holding certain mission critical information outside of my corp. just doesn't feel right. "Citrix remains committed to deliver robust
applications in a secure and managed manner to
businesses and consumers" Anyway will someone with some knowledge let me know if I am on the right track. Personally I am getting a little excited about Citrix way down here in the low 20's. Lets see, the strengths of Citrixs fundamental story may be real, management dropped the ball on how to handle bad news, on near term earnings, its not like this sort of thing doesn't happen. I don't care about class action litigation. I don't want to waste my time stressing about present management, I'm sure there are many people that have professional relationships with Citrix, that are already doing that. I say lets move forward with what we have, so we can move sooner rather than later. People must also realize that a market that can take a stock down so quickly, can also bring it right back up, if and when enough people come to share the same positive prospective. I heared about the CFO not showing up when the stock was at 56. I choose to ride the situation out. Of course I didn't expect the stock to break down so far. I want to believe that there is more, that is fundamentally solid to Citrixs than I originally thought. Anyway if I had sold at 56 I would have moved on, and learned little. Now that I have stuck it out, I want to try and make the most of this situation. But it won't happen if we all can't find a positive fundimental story to get behind. So at this critical time when so many look to the boards, lets hear some summations of Citrixs known strengths, verses the competition. Hey if I am way off base here, will some of you people with knowledge on Citrixs and its industry, set me straight.
