Two months or so ago, California refineries had shutdowns. Now, it's the Midwest. Here, in the DC area, gas is up about 10-15 cents.

*** OT *** AS, your comments regarding the US saving Saudi Arabia and Kuwait is just another fantasy.

The 1991 war was nothing more than to protect crucial US economic interest and an US source of cheap energy. It had nothing to do with human rights or any other mumble jumble emanating from Washington.

The US let the Iraq forces decimate the Kurds and other minorities in the Tigris Delta, they stooped short of toppling Saddam rein in Iraq, as their supply of cheap oil was already secured.

Further for the last several years this administration completly ignored the measures put in place 20 years ago to try to make the US economy more energy efficient.

It is the fault of this administration that now we face higher energy prices and NOT OPEC's.

Question - Why not charge 100% taxes on SUV's who are used as a status symbol?? and not for a real need??

Why wind and solar energy projects are NOT TAX subsidized as they were in the early 80'thies?

Why should Hi Tech mangers, employees adn stock holders get filty rich and limit the producers of commodities to fulfill their "American Dream" and get rich by selling their natural resources????

Is that not a logical demand of spreading the wealth equaly ?

Puting political pressure on OPEC is wrong this time.
