if they could only see what was within ten feet of them in the water, they would never go swimming again.

When I was a kid, there was a bass that used to bite us whenever we swam near HIS DIVING RAFT...

Does that count??

BTW, my Dad used to put on his snorkel and mask and sit on a big rock under the water near the raft. The bass would come up to my Dad and let him tickle it on its stomach... We all saw this happen plenty of times...

Crazy fish... liked my Dad but hated the little minnows of the family...

Hi Ammo,

Yep, if you get a birds eye view where you can see in the water, wow. The advice about not going out too far doesn't mean much. I've heard most attacks happen in 3 feet or less of water.

Saw a special where a great white grabbed a sea lion, cleared the water with it, smashed it as they hit the water. 3 bites and it was gone. 500 pound snack.

Hi Ammo,

That is true! My husband and son were snorkeling in John Pennekamp<sp?> years ago, and my husband saw a shark about 10' long coming toward them out of the dark. He just motioned our son to surface with him and tried to be "non-chalant"...Found the whole situation quite unsettling, my son still thinks he was just kidding around.

Thanks, Ammo. This is why I like to swim off the coast of the Florida panhandle - far enough east of Mobile Bay and Pensacola that the water is clear enough to see for a long way. If a shark was within ten feet of me, I'd know it. Also, I don't swim very far out, I like to be able to touch the ground with my feet, so I can run if need be.

Now for a more relaxing topic. I have decided to construct a multi-page website. Everyone I have talked to suggests using Microsoft Front Page, but I hate Microsoft. Have you tried any web authoring tools?
