JC: I'm not particularly arbitrary...and like most folks who are pretty fair traders I generally have a good idea of the fundamentals...but I am more concerned with the price of a company's stock than the company itself. To suggest that my results are more random is rather bad form JC. You might be surprised by my results. Once in a great while I'll come up with an "original idea" that will lead to a rewarding investment...some of which I'll hold, some I'll trade. I simply don't have the knowledge or resources to come upon and evaluate a Sun Microsystems. So I do what I tend do do best...I trade. I buy NITE at 40 and keep some, trade some all the way up to 160. I short some of the biotechs and whackily overpriced internet and tech stocks. I rarely buy a bottom, rarely sell a top. But
I just plod along. And JC...there's lotsa fellows like you who think that their company is untouchable... and one day they wake up and see half their profits gone while their company is still doing fine. The 90 multiple melts to 60...then 40. Enough tossing of stones JC. Go, do your thing. I give you your due. You've made a ton...all you have to do is be wise enough and humble enough to retain it.
