Elmer: I rolled my June $85 short put position out to July $85s and picked up another $5 per share!

What is this "rolling" term I keep hearing about? Is it simply covering your current options position and opening a new one, or is it more complicated? (perhaps conferring some tax advantage?)

Elmer:

I've refined my technical indicators and at $81 to $82, just couldn't get enough AMD...I missed picking up 200 June 85's at $0.25 as the trade didn't bite even though quote at the time was 1/8 to 3/8's!...Oh well, can't always get what you want!

By the way, congratulations on your score...and also volume pickup today looks like a positive sign...although the day is far from over!

Funny. When I bought my AMD back in October you were in here talking the same sort of trash. ;)

Now I come back to the thread for a peek, and here you are still saying the same stuff. But ONE thing HAS changed. My portfolio value. ;)
