Eric,

<<It appears that SK Telecom is prepared to due a nationwide rollout of CDMA 1x MC in 2001>>

Nice summary. FWIW, I happened to meet one of SK's managers tonight. Trying not to be rude, I cornered him and tried to find out what he knew.

He said they are on target to begin rolling out 1XMC in December. (There are five wireless carriers in Korea, all use CDMA.) SK currently has 3 million subscribers and the numbers continue to ramp. They expect 1XMC to drive the market closer to saturation in 2001/2002- wireless data will be huge in Korea (it already is big, just not fast enough) according to this guy (I'd rather not give his name publicly). He works in their government relations department. Not an engineer. But he has access to info. if anyone here has further questions. He's was just transferred temporarily to the States to take some management courses.

Best regards,

John
