John, Here's is a clip of the last paragraph of the White Paper I just posted... Rambus has said that its interface can allow switching engines to move data at up to 7Gbits/s using two RDRAM chips. Some of the companies already using Rambus technology in communications products include Texas Instruments, LSI Logic, NEC, Berkeley Networks, and Brocade Communications. As these design wins multiply, the critical mass required to ease Direct RDRAM into other applications as well, including PC main memory, cannot be far behind.
