Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of the Moon to be Simulcast

Turner Classis Movies has announced that it will broadcast the Wizard of Oz synced up with Pink Floyd's album, Dark Side of the Moon. Many believe Floyd composed the classic album as a soundtrack to coincide with key moments in the movie, a claim that the band has repeatedly denied. However, because of several eerie coincidences, the practice of playing the film and album simultaneously has been popularized in recent years. The broadcast will feature Dark Side of the Moon on the SAP (Second Audio Program) channel, which normally carries visual descriptions for the hearing impaired. SAP is available to people with DIRECTV or in cable markets that offer the service. Viewers without SAP will still be able to participate if they have a copy of the album. At the beginning of the broadcast, there will be instructions on how to synchronize the audio and video. TCM will broadcast the film July 3 at 11 p.m. EST.
