I am listening to CNBC and they are going on with momentum of trashing QCOM.

In the process of talking down QCOM, CNBC just made the following comment:

"...SDLI, of course, has their own CDMA technology."

clearly stating that SDLI has a competitive CDMA technology to QCOM's and they do not have to pay royalties.

Is this true? I thought QCOM got royalties on any use of CDMA.

JohnG,
Roberts $.33 estimate is for Q4 not Q3. His full year estimate is $1.11 which means his Q3 number must be $.27 since actual is $.51 thru Q2.

Roberts said he thinks investors are taking a ?very simplistic? view of the situation and that he remains comfortable with his above consensus estimates of 33 cents a share and $1.11 for the fourth quarter and all of fiscal 2000, respectively

Mike

re: So far, I have completely underestinated the amount of bad news that can be created by China, Snyder, Korea, Reuters, etc.

The thing that is disturbing about it, and I can't remember this in happening in another stock so frequently, is that the negative news is leak or comes out, then it's talk about, then the worry dies down, then seemingly it comes out again as if it is new news, no once but twice or more, so we get hit two or three times again and again over the same news. China deal is a perfect example of that, now we have Korea and G to come back and hit the price even though they should be priced in already.
