Unbelievable:

Trying to time real estate is so tough. Stocks are much easier :-) Those who waited the last couple of years have been slammed as rates have climbed 2% in addition to the appreciation. Of course, this is not a concern to cash buyers, but I'd imagine cash home buyers represent a small %. While I am one, I have kicked myself for almost two years now for not pulling out money at a ridiculously low, tax deductable rate in late 1998. I was so close to doing so, but didn't :-( I knew in my bones at the time that they money could be put in a CD even with a breakeven after tax rate within 12 to 18 months. Sure enough, you get more on ANY CD duration currently than that mortgage rate would have been.

My Wife thinks I have the potential too!
Sell a property here, buy another there.
It's just that I'm not any good at raising livestock and then dealing with slaughters. The only live stock I want is two cats. My next move 'must take me' someplace that's warm to hot-- year round, and hopefully economical and a lot slower than CA.!! We need to leave those BIG 'Sales' at the overpriced dept store in that ultra priced market where we used to live. What's the Gulf coast like?

Funny. I keep talking to my wife about more acres and livestock and how the baby would really like living in the country....and I sit on a computer all day.(ouch)

She's not impressed. (thank goodness).
