Great points. The pure auction quote was from a fund manager I saw on Bloomberg and the quote sort of stuck in the sense of what will the next guy pay.
What I noticed today was a power SHWD taking a feel of the stock, and knowing that at least on a day like today SHWD was in control. I should really stop trading all together around triple witching;it would be hard for even the most salted trader to make a case there isn't a bunch of weird stuff going on.

But I'd bet - and correct me if I'm wrong - that your use of the term "manipulat[e]" indicates that you feel, or that others have expressed, that the dealer was doing something wrong or acting illicitly in keeping the stock from running IF that is indeed what he was doing.

Let me take your suggestion and correct you because your wrong. I don't see anything wrong with it. I think it's great. I bet-and correct me if I'm wrong-you being on the other side of things, have all kinds of keen insight.

LPS5 -

Kudos on another mind-clearing post...My mind is pretty clear as there is not too much on it...your mind seems pretty clear because of what is on it...am just a little envious ;-)

Cormac
