Hi All; Sony PS2 requires 6 layers because of RDRAM:

Sony and its partners announce their printed circuit board used for PlayStation 2
Sony Neagari Corp. and Sumitomo Bakelite Co., Ltd. have announced their printed circuit board (PBC) technology adopted in Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation 2 at "JPCA Show 2000" which was held from June 7 to 9, 2000 at Tokyo Big Sight.

Exhibited by Sony Neagari were panels introducing its impedance control technology and printed circuit board incorporated in PlayStation 2. The characteristic of the PBC lies in its impedance ranging from 7%ñ to 10%. PCB has six layers to support Rambus memory.
[LOL!] The PBC was jointly designed by the engineers of Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Corp. and manufactured by Sony Neagari. Sony Kisarazu handled the packaging of the PBC for commercialization. It appears that Sony Neagari has already begun the development of the next version of its PBC with the aim of cutting the cost of producing PS2.

Carl, ref: <<Hitachi tries to drag in the other DRAM makers:>>

Thats OVER WITH, as you know. Go to order #8, 24 May.

dockets.usitc.gov

ref: <<everybody to pay 1% royalties.....I don't think that that would be about to happen. Instead, this may be the impetus to force the industry to band its legal efforts to assist Hitachi. In any case, RDRAM technology is dead.>>

You really want the industry to have RMBS IP for free, don't you? Carl, why don't you tell your handlers (ggg) at AMI2 and Via that it is GAME OVER?

Your friend,

Blake
