Scumbria,

Haven't looked at it that way, but could very well be possible.

I have heard an unsubstantiated rumor (you all know what they can be worth) that DELL is now taking deliveries on Athlon processors. Any firm information on this issue would be much appreciated.

Regards,

DARBES

Toshiba last night became the biggest memory player to bite the Rambus bullet and to license SDRAM (synchronous memory) and DDR (double data rate) memory from the Mountain View intellectual property machine.

I find the Toshiba deal to be rather suspicious. Why would Toshiba agree to pay before the current lawsuits are resolved? There must be some incentives from Rambus (like stock maybe?) ;^)

Scumbria,

Do you think that DDR is a ripoff of RMBS?

Scumbria,

I think Toshiba may be hedging their bets. There must be enough evidence to RMBS's claims that Toshiba wants to be sure they are on RMBS's good side with favorable contracts should RMBS win its court cases.

Of course Toshiba's capitulation certainly improves RMBS's position.

Hmm, RamBUST execs announce 4 for 1 stock split after stock rockets for a few days on news coming from Intel's Forum. Then, on day of split, the execs announce Toshiba deal. Looks like they want to boost the stock price.

Also, MSDW analyst Mark Edelstone comes out with positive report after Intel's Forum. Today, MSDW upgrades to strong buy from outperform. MSDW was the lead underwriter of RMBS. Because of this, they definitely have reason to boost the stock price since they probably have options, or warrants, or whatever to a bunch of stock.

But this is just coincidence, right? After all, DRDRAM is the ultimate technology.
